People's United Foundation awards $2,500 to Windham & Windsor Housing Trust

Vermont Business Magazine The People’s United Community Foundation, the philanthropic arm of People’s United Bank, announced today that it has awarded $2,500 to the Windham & Windsor Housing Trust, Inc. (WWHT). Windham & Windsor Housing Trust’s mission is to strengthen the communities of southeast Vermont through the development and stewardship of permanently affordable housing and ongoing support and advocacy for its residents. The grant from People’s United Community Foundation will support WWHT’s Homeownership Center, which offers education and financial coaching to prospective homeowners and provides resources such as down payment assistance grants and home repair loans.

“This grant will help us open the doors to successful financial management and homeownership for many families in the Windham and Windsor counties,” said Connie Snow, Executive Director, Windham & Windsor Housing Trust. “We are pleased to partner with People’s United Community Foundation on this program."

"Supporting programs that work to keep families and individuals in their homes is an important part of our giving,” said Michael Seaver, Officer People’s United Community Foundation and President of People’s United Bank Vermont Division. “Windham & Windsor Housing Trust has an incredible record of raising 100% of participants’ credit scores since 2008.”
