Vermont Business Magazine Fat Toad Farm will be partnering with artisan cheesemaker and certified B Corporation, Vermont Creamery, in order to source a year-round supply of fresh, local goat’s milk, to support the increasing demand for their award-winning Goat’s Milk Caramel Sauces. At the end of 2015, Fat Toad Farm’s herd of goats will be relocated to Ayers Brook Goat Dairy, opened in 2013 by Vermont Creamery. As the country’s first demonstration goat dairy, Ayers Brook Goat Dairy serves to develop and model best practices in dairy goat herd and feed management – with the goal of spurring the growth of the dairy goat industry in Vermont.
The decision to partner with Vermont Creamery comes during one of the most successful years for Fat Toad Farm, including receiving sofi™ Gold for Outstanding Product Line, a prestigious accolade awarded annually by the Specialty Food Association. In addition, Fat Toad Farm won the 2014 FedEx Small Business Grant which brought them national recognition.
“Our goal has always been, and will continue to be to produce the highest quality, traditional goat’s milk caramel sauce, using the freshest goat’s milk available,” said Calley Hastings, co-owner of Fat Toad Farm. “This partnership with Vermont Creamery will allow us and our goats to be a part of the growth of the dairy goat industry in Vermont, while giving us the ability to increase the production of our Goat’s Milk Caramel Sauce for years to come.”
“Fat ToadFarm Caramel is a stellar product. We are excited to participate in their growth. Steve, Judith, and Calley have entrusted Ayers Brook Goat Dairy with their beloved animals. We take that seriously. And, more thriving goat milk products will only further our mission to develop a vibrant goat industry in Vermont,” said Bob Reese, co-founder of Vermont Creamery.
Fat Toad Farm will continue to produce their Goat’s Milk Caramel Sauce in small batches on their farm in Brookfield, Vermont. Their product line of traditional Goat’s Milk Caramel Sauces, comprised of eight flavors (Original, Salted Bourbon, Cold Brew Coffee, Spicy Dark Chocolate, Vanilla Bean, Vermont Maple, Cinnamon, and Irish Whiskey Cream), can be found online atwww.fattoadfarm.com and in specialty food stores across the United States.
“Just eight years ago, we started on this adventure and each year we have grown,” said Judith Irving, co-owner of Fat Toad Farm. “We are excited to see the increasing demand for our caramel and look forward to the next chapter for our family, farm, and caramel.”
