USCIS to welcome 34 new US citizens at Neshobe School in Brandon

US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will present 34 citizenship candidates to the Vermont District Court during a special venue naturalization ceremony at the Neshobe Schoolin Brandon on Wednesday,May 6. USCIS will present the candidates to the Honorable Colleen A. Brown, US Bankruptcy Judge, US District CourtVermont District, who will administer the Oath of Allegiance to America’s newest citizens.

The Honorable Judge Brown and representativesfrom Vermont’s congressional delegation will welcomethe new the citizenship candidates and their guests. Musical selections will be performed by the Neshobe School 5th and 6th grade chorus and the Preamble to the Constitution will be performed by the 5th grade students.

The citizenship candidates represent the following 23 countries: Bhutan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, China, Columbia, Czech-Republic, Dominican Republic, France, Guatemala, Kenya, Mexico, Myanmar, Nepal, Netherlands, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Rwanda, Somalia, United Kingdom, an Venezuela.

USCIS naturalization ceremonies in Vermont are judicial ceremonies and with court approval this ceremony is being held at the Neshobe School to increase public awareness of the U.S. citizenship process and to enhance the school’s curriculum.

USCIS encourages new citizens and guests to share their naturalization ceremony experiences and photos through social media, using the hashtag #newUScitizen.
