American and Vermont manufacturers are experiencing a renaissance. Numerous manufacturers are bringing outsourced jobs back home. There is a market opportunity to build upon and grow Vermont’s manufacturing economy with the Vermont value proposition: quality, ingenuity and innovation. In 2012, the manufacturing industry in Vermont accounted for $3.15 billion, or 11.5% of the state’s gross domestic product (GDP) and made up almost two-thirds of all Vermont exports. In 2013, manufacturing employed over 32,000 Vermonters.
On Thursday, September 25, the Vermont Chamber will host its annual Manufactured in Vermont Supply Chain Trade Show at the Champlain Valley Exposition. This show will help grow the state’s manufacturing sector as a significant driver of the state’s economy, both as an employer and producer of goods. It will also create a niche network that connects industry peers and facilitates both sourcing and procurement opportunities for innovative, stronger and nimble supply chains in Vermont, throughout New England and with Canada.
Show attendees will have the opportunity to network, discover new resources and programs from 87 exhibitors and attend educational seminars on supply chain innovation, government contracting, financing and workforce development.
Registration is at no cost for attendees. For more information and to register, please visit www.ManufacturedInVT.com.
