"There has been much debate about the value of education and how teachers are compensated for their tireless commitment to the education of our children," saidHugo Saucedo, Editor of Top Masters in Education. "With the span between the highest average pay and the lowest exceeding$60,000, it is important that teachers are educated about their compensation so that they can not only make decisions about where they might pursue a career, but so that they can advocate for themselves to receive pay that offers them the financial security they need."

Saucedo determined the highest average paying public school districts in each state by cross-referencing sources such as NEA (National Educational Association), National Center for Educational Statistics, State Educational websites, and a variety of other labor related sites that measured average income in each corresponding city. The list does not include private institutions or independent charter schools.

In addition to naming the average pay in each state's top ranking district, readers will find a brief description of the district and general information about the community where it is located.
