Related Company:National Life GroupJudd Levine, a special education teacher at U-32 High School in East Montpelier was recognized Wednesday as a nationalLifeChanger of the Yearduring a surprise ceremony in front of his colleagues.Levine was selected as one of ten 2013-14 national LifeChangers out of more than 435 nominees for teachers, administrators and school district employees from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
“This award would never even be considered without all the colleagues that I work with and everyone in this building,” Levine said. “I thank my colleagues for letting me be the educator that I am.”

Levine was nominated by the parents of a student at U-32 High School for his tireless efforts, both as a coach and as a teacher, and for serving as a sounding board and mentor for many students. Hisprofile is posted online. Levine received a $1,500 cash prize and an additional $1,500 donation was made to U-32.
“His remarkable ability to connect with students has led to the inclusion of many gifted athletes on his lacrosse team who struggle from social and behavioral challenges,” said Mehran Assadi, president and CEO of National Life Group. “Demonstrating remarkable patience and empathy for his students, Levine inspires them to succeed and teaches the values of sportsmanship and teamwork.”
Levine joins nine other national 2013-14 LifeChanger winners from California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Nevada and Texas. The grand prize winner and the first and second runners-up will be announced in May.
