Vermont Gas names Beth Parent corporate communications manager

Vermont Gas has announced that Beth Parent hasjoined the team as Corporate Communications Manager.Parent joins current Director of Communications Steve Wark in guiding thecompany’s public relations, communications, and serving as a spokesperson.Parent has over 14 years of journalism, communications and public relationsexperience and is a familiar face in the community.She spent nearly 10years as an anchor, reporter and producer at WCAX-TV.

“This is an exciting time for me to be transitioning onto the Vermont Gasteam,” Parent said. “Vermont Gas has an unparalleled history of safetyand service – and an exciting future of energy innovation – and I lookforward to showcasing all of the good work the company is doing through avariety of earned, digital and social media channels.”

For the past five years, Parent has worked as a communications and publicrelations specialist. Most recently, she worked as an Account Supervisor atPeople Making Good PR, where she helped develop and implement strategic andtactical PR and social media strategies for clients in the healthcare, highereducation, specialty food and outdoor industries.

Parent also spent four years as the Marketing and Communications Specialistat the University of Vermont School of Business Administration, where shemanaged all of the internal and external communications includingimplementing the school’s social media program.She was a Vermont Business Magazine "Rising Star" in 2013 (CLICK HERE).

Steve Wark has served as the Director of Communications at Vermont Gas since2011.Before joining Vermont Gas, he served as the Deputy Commissioner atthe Vermont Department of Public Service. Wark also served as the DeputyChief of the Burlington Police Department.
