The Vermont Technology Alliance in collaboration with the Vermont Technology Council has published the third edition of Tapping Tech, a print and digital publication that highlights the positive impact of Vermont’s growing technology business sector and its importance to Vermont’s economy.
Tapping Tech features Vermont companies in a range of technology business sectors, highlights the technology business ecosystem in the state, and includes a listing of Vermont companies and organizations that make up the state’s tech economy.
“We published Tapping Tech to draw attention both in and outside the state to the positive impact of Vermont’s growing technology business sector, and the good-paying jobs it provides, said Jeff Couture, executive director of the Vermont Technology Alliance. “It features the companies, organizations and programs that make up Vermont’s vibrant tech community, and demonstrates the importance of the tech sector to Vermont’s economic future and job growth.”
Tapping Tech profiles leading companies from across Vermont in key technology business sectors such as software, cybersecurity, IT solutions, healthcare and education, including Dealer.com, Pwnie Express, Middlebury Interactive Languages, BioTek, C2, Logic Supply, the Leahy Center for Digital Investigation at Champlain College and others.
Tapping Tech also provides an overview of the ecosystem that fosters and supports Vermont innovation, including tech events, co-working and business incubator spaces, organizations offering tech education opportunities and internships, and community organizations that promote and support tech in the state.
In Addition, Tapping Tech points to some of the ways Vermont can advance its technology economy:
– Continued investment in Vermont’s broadband connectivity – faster speeds, lower prices improved access and choice.
– Market Vermont as a home for technology business and careers – along with a great quality of life.
– Expand opportunities for technology business financing and investment – especially for smaller companies with intellectual assets.
– Encourage education programs and opportunities for a tech workforce – both STEM education and adult training.
“We hope that readers of Tapping Tech will discover that Vermont is a home to technology innovation and entrepreneurship and that tech is an economic growth opportunity for the state,” said Couture.
Print copies of Tapping Tech have been distributed to elected and other government officials, tech businesses, schools, colleges, real estate offices and others. A digital version of Tapping Tech is available at www.vermonttechnologyalliance.org and print copies are available on request from the Vermont Technology Alliance.
