Vermont Chamber EXPO highlights business innovation, May 21-22

Registration is now open for the 30th annual Vermont Chamber Business & Industry EXPO, the largest business-to-business trade show in Northern New England where over 3,000 business leaders and 200 exhibitors can connect and learn how to grow their businesses. EXPO will be at the Sheraton Burlington Hotel & Conference Center on May 21-22.

Business Innovation is the theme of this year’s EXPO, which is free to attendees who register before May 16th. The Vermont Chamber has assembled a powerhouse line up of national business innovators.

During the annual US Senator Leahy Business Breakfast, sponsored by VELCO, Brian Kelley, CEO, of Keurig Green Mountain, will discuss how disruptive technology and core values transformed the Vermont coffee company into a global beverage business.

The Vermont Chamber and Vermont Business Magazine will present the Deane C Davis Outstanding Business of the Year Award during the opening ceremonies of EXPO on Wednesday, May 21. The award is given to the Vermont business that has demonstrated success and exceptional accomplishments on a consistent basis.

New this year is the Lean In For Leadership Luncheon, a lively round table discussion, inspired by Lean In, the bestselling book by Facebook’s COO Sheryl Sandberg. Vermont’s business leaders — women and men from small companies, large business, start-ups and iconic brands — will explore how leadership and workforce ambition can drive business growth. The luncheon is sponsored by Green Mountain Power, Digital Benefit Advisors and KPMG.

During Thursday’s Business Luncheon, sponsored by Comcast Business, Tarun Rathnam, head of B2B advertising at Google, will share tips for building better business-to-business connections.

The Momentum Center is a new area located in the foyer of the Sheraton Burlington Hotel & Conference Center where exhibitors can give 20-mintue presentations free of charge to attendees. Sponsored by PC Construction, the Momentum Center gives attendees an opportunity to hear about strategies and lessons for building business momentum.

TD Bank’s Innovation Institute presents free seminars from three national experts on media innovation:

  • Tom Spano, a former Twitter and Yahoo! strategist, offers his expertise on social integration and business growth;
  • Burton Snowboards shares its success in expanding its customer base through social media channels; and
  • Matt Dodd from Brandthropology discusses the importance of data analytics in growing a business.
