Norwich University Applied Research Institutes joins the National Cybersecurity Preparedness Consortium

Vermont Business Magazine Norwich University Applied Research Institutes (NUARI) has been named to the National Cybersecurity Preparedness Consortium (NCPC) as part of a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency announced earlier this month.

The NCPC falls under the leadership of the University of Texas at San Antonio Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security, the University of Arkansas System’s Criminal Justice Institute and the University of Memphis’ Center for Information Assurance. Collectively, the three organizations will administer a three-year, $800,000 grant to develop one new training course and update five existing training courses to help states and communities prepare for, detect and respond to cyber-attacks. The courses will address cybersecurity awareness, policy, monitoring and incident response, disaster recovery, business continuity and risk/vulnerability management. NUARI will be part of that effort, as will the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service.

“NUARI is pleased to be part of the National Cybersecurity Preparedness Consortium and the opportunity for leveraging more than a decade of experience building cyber resiliency with local, state and national level responders” says NUARI President Phil Susmann.
