Burlington-based KSV received The Ad Club’s ‘Best Use of Social Media’ Media Maven Award for its work on behalf of National Grid during Hurricane Sandy.
The annual Media Maven Awards ceremony recognizes top media talent in the New England marketing/advertising community. Awards are presented to individuals, brands, and organizations for creating and implementing innovative, creative and effective media plans. The Best Use of Social Media category recognizes exceptional media plans that are driven by social media.
‘It's an honor to be recognized for our work on behalf of National Grid,’ said Cavan Chasan, digital connections director at KSV. ‘Our team worked 24/7 through the storm, and we were immensely pleased with how the results helped build and shape our client’s brand.’
KSV’s social media team provided National Grid and its social channels with a strong, active and informative social media presence leading up to, during and following Hurricane Sandy. In providing real-time restoration updates, important safety information, and one-on-one customer service the channels were regarded as a credible source for storm-related information.
As a result, the brand experienced greater than 100% fan growth across each of its five Facebook pages, with some regions topping 200%. The more than 3,600 new followers on Twitter amounted to 54% growth for National Grid's primary Twitter handle, @nationalgridus, and garnered more than 12 million impressions.
The Ad Club’s Media Maven awards ceremony was held on September 19 in Boston.
