Michael L Seaver, Vermont President, People’s United Bank, Burlington, was named a trustee of Saint Michael's College this fall. He attended his first meeting of a three-year term on the 31-member board Oct. 3-5, on the campus of the liberal arts residential Catholic college.
Seaver, a 1981 graduate of Saint Michael’s College, has been president of People’s United in Burlington since 2008. Before that he worked at Chittenden Bank in Burlington, starting as a teller in 1981, and then working from 1981 to 2008 as credit analyst, loan expeditor, commercial lender, commercial real estate lender, workout specialist, group manager Commercial Banking and then Senior Vice President and Senior Lending Officer.
Seaver is on the board of the Vermont Business Roundtable and the Shelburne Museum. He is a trustee of Mayo Healthcare, and he is an executive committee member and past chair of the Vermont Banker’s Association. He is now vice president of the board of the United Way of Chittenden County.
Seaver was awarded the 2013 Outstanding Community Service Banker Award from the Vermont Bankers Association (VBA) at their annual conference on September 7, 2013.
He was cited upon winning that award this way: ‘Michael has been a part of our banking family for over 30 years and for as long as I have known him, I have had great respect for his commitment to serving those in need and his community,’ said Jack Barnes, President and CEO, People’s United Bank. ‘Michael’s commitment goes well beyond serving on boards. He participates in holiday parties for families in need, joins walks to raise money for Alzheimer’s research and brings awareness to growing needs in our community. We are very fortunate to have Michael as our bank President in Vermont.’
Michael and his wife Linda Seaver reside in Burlington. They have three children.
