David Snedeker to replace retiring NVDA executive director Steve Paterson

The Executive Committee of the NVDA Board of Directors has named David Snedeker Executive Director of NVDA.’ The leadership transition is scheduled to take place in December. Board President John Morley said, "Dave has the credentials and experience to step into this critically important position to oversee both regional planning and economic development efforts in the three counties of Caledonia, Essex and Orleans. We are lucky to have his expertise on staff which will allow for a smooth transition."’
Steve Patterson,’ retiring after more than a decade,’ praised Snedeker's appointment. "Dave’ was named Deputy Director in October. His assistance has been’ critical all along in helping guide our work in every’ area, and he has’ lead several major projects. His recent work on the Foreign Trade Zone’ is expected to benefit the expanding Northeast Kingdom economy."’ ‘
David has been a resident of Barton since 2002, where he lives with his wife Johanna and their two children.’ He began employment at NVDA as a Planner’ that same year.’ In 2004, he took over the position of Administrator’ with the then Unorganized Towns and Gores of Essex County. He returned to NVDA in 2007, to fill the vacant position of Planning Manager. David does not expect’ any major changes once he takes over.’ "Steve has the organization moving in a positive direction and I'm expecting to continue that.’ While this transition has been in progress for some time, there are some things I plan to become more familiar with on the business side of operations.’ I’ look forward to the opportunities and challenges offered in this leadership position."
