No lift lines and nothing but open terrain is a ski buff’s fantasy, and this winter the Woodstock Inn & Resort is making that a reality for corporate groups with the launch of Mountain Mondays. Available January thru March 16, 2014, groups can now ‘own’ the 100-acre Suicide Six Ski Mountain for their next company outing of up to 200 people.
Fully equipped with skis, boots and poles, guests will have full rein over two chair lifts and J-bar service to 23 trails of varying difficulty. The base lodge, with full view of the mountain, doubles as both hangout for après ski relaxation with hot beverages and cookies, and as functional meeting space. Cross-country ski equipment and snow shoe rentals are also available for guests who prefer to trek through Woodstock’s Nordic Center, which offers more than 60 kilometers of trails. And, for groups with a competitive spirit, an activity director is on hand to organize ski races and team building activities.
Says Werner Graef, Woodstock President and General Manager, ‘Where else can you own a ski mountain for the day? As a skier, the idea of no lift lines and a wide open run, well that’s really appealing. As an event planner, the all-in-one pricing makes the program extremely turnkey.’ ‘
Suicide Six is available to rent on Mondays only, December through March for $7,500. The package includes exclusive use of the mountain (up to 200 people), ski passes for the day, ski and snow shoe rentals, coffee and hot chocolate break, meeting and banquet set up, activity director and shuttle to other resort amenities. Tax and gratuities, additional meals and beverages and negotiated room rates are not included in the package price. The Inn can comfortably accommodate small to large group functions with up to 300 guests.’ On-site resort resources include wireless, high-speed internet, audiovisual access, equipment rental, catering services, specialized menus and exclusive group rates.
Throughout the winter season the Inn provides guests with a number of dining and recreational options to enhance their stay. The Red Rooster, the resort’s fine dining restaurant emphasizes a menu using fresh, local ingredients sourced from purveyors in New England.’ Richardson’s Tavern offers a cozy old-world atmosphere with a full bar and live music.’ Resort activities include a 41,000 square foot Racquet & Fitness Club, which includes indoor tennis courts and racquetball courts, a 30-by-60 foot indoor lap pool, a whirlpool, workout equipment and a steam room and a sauna. The 10,000 square-foot LEED-certified spa offers a nature-inspired ambiance and treatments including the signature winter selection, Deep Forest, which features a gentle exfoliation of the body and is followed by a massage.
