The Green Mountain Care Board has decided to add to its meeting schedule and will hold the following (see below) public board meetings in January. After discussion on January 9th including additional comment from meeting attendees the Board determined that more time was needed to hear comments and to create a proposal related to hospital budgeting. Toward that end, the Board determined:
· The matter will be reconsidered in a special Board meeting Wednesday, January 23rd at 1 p.m.;
· On January 23rd, Board Chair Anya Rader Wallack will present to the Board a proposal for setting expenditure targets. This could include a multi-year hospital budgeting proposal being created with input from the Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems;
· Public comment on the matter will remain open until 2pm on Friday, January 18th.

The GMCB approves hospital budgets, major health care capital investments, health insurer rates increases, all-payer rates for all providers, and minimum health benefit requirements. The Board encourages Vermonters seeking to share their views to visit the GMCB website (http://gmcboard.vermont.gov/) or to call (802) 828-2177.
