Dept of Environmental Conservation launches blog focused on Vermont's water quality

The Watershed Management Division (a Division of the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation [DEC]) has launched’ FLOW, a blog with a focus on providing news, tips and education to the public regarding Vermont's water quality efforts and improvements. Blog topics include grant and workshop announcements, education and outreach opportunities, progress on important water-related issues, and the science that informs DEC policy and management issues.’ ‘
Launched in October,’ FLOW’ has already received over 3,500 views. Current posts include information on Vermont wetlands, an introduction to the watersheds of Vermont, environmental leadership, flood hazard areas, green infrastructure, river and stream biology, tactical basin planning, meeting and training announcements, and grant funding opportunities.
Vermont residents, business owners, municipal employees, landowners and visitors alikecan find information and resources that interest them. Individuals can sign up to receive email notifications for each new blog post, or bookmark the site and check back regularly to stay informed on water quality issues of interest. The blog is located atwww.vt.watershedblog.com’ and is updated at least once a week.
