JobsInVT.com awards $1,000 to Vermont nonprofits

Phillip Brown at St. Johnsbury Health and Rehabilitation Center recently made the Vermont Foodbank quite happy. His employer entry for the JobsInVT.com Live Work Give contest was selected at random, and he directed the $500 donation to go to Vermont's largest hunger relief organization.
"Every action, big or small, is important in the fight against hunger," said Judy Sterner, Director of Communications and Public Affairs of Vermont Foodbank, noting that each week 82,000 Vermonters will request food assistance.
A second Vermont nonprofit was equally pleased. Nan Bambara was the randomly selected job seeker winner for the first quarter, who in turn selected Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning to receive a $500 donation from JobsInVT.com in her name.
"I am thrilled to pick GMALL to receive a $500 donation from JobsInVT.com's Live Work Give 10 year anniversary campaign," said Nan. "GMALL is a community resource that allows us to never stop learning. Their program offerings are interesting, intellectual, varied and, best of all, available to everyone."
The Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning encourages intellectual enrichment and personal growth through courses and workshops in art, music, philosophy, theater, literature, history, cooking, bridge, photography and more.
The Contest
As a way to say "thank you" all year for using JobsInVT.com over the past 10 years, our Live Work Give celebration contest picks a job seeker and an employer winner quarterly, who each choose a Vermont nonprofit to receive the donations.
JobsInVT.com will randomly select one Vermont job seeker entry and one Vermont employer entry per quarter and ask each winner to choose a registered Vermont 501(c)(3) organization for us to donate $500 on their behalf.
