Vermont Department of Mental Health gets emergency Certificate of Need for new beds

The Department of Mental Health on Thursday received an emergency Certificate of Need that will allow it to move forward with key components of a plan approved by the Legislature for a replacement of mental health beds destroyed by Tropical Storm Irene.
Facilities approved by the Certificate of Need issued by the Departmentof Financial Regulation will be constructed in Brattleboro, Rutland and Morrisville. There will be 14 new beds in Brattleboro, six in Rutland and eight beds in Morrisville.
â This is an important step forward in restoring badly needed services to Vermonters who need and deserve our help.’said Mental Health Commissioner Patrick Flood.
