DMV Express, through which Vermont auto, boat and snowmobile owners renew their vehicle registrations, issued its one-millionth online renewal this week. Between 700,000 and 800,000 vehicle registration renewals are transacted annually, with nearly 30 percent occurring through the online service, which allows Vermont vehicle owners to enjoy the convenience of doing business with theVermont DMVfrom the comfort of their homes.

Launched in 2005 by the stateâ s e-government partnerVermont Information Consortium,DMV Expresshad about 100,000 users in its first year and has grown steadily, with over 200,000 citizens expected to use the service in 2012. Accessible online 24/7 athttps://secure.vermont.gov/dmv/express, via IVR (phone) and card swiper kiosks,DMV Expressallows Vermont citizens and businesses to perform motor vehicle transactions at any time, day or night. The service has securely processed over $66 million in registration payments since 2005.
