Tag Sale' of surplus office equipment at Waterbury state office complex resumes Friday, continues August 2

The Old Laundry Building at the Waterbury State Office Complex has been restocked and will be open to Vermont cities, towns, schools and non-profit organizations at Friday’s Tag Sale of surplus office furnishings being removed from the Waterbury State Office Complex. ‘A wide variety of office furnishings has been moved to the Old Laundry Building for Friday’s sale. This fresh shipment of furnishings from the upper floors of the complex looks to be of very good quality and in very good condition. I am urging all Vermont cities, towns, schools and non profits to take advantage of this resource if needed in their communities, ‘said Michael Obuchowski, Commissioner of Buildings and General Services.
‘Last week’s successful Tag Sale for non-profit organizations demonstrated the need our communities have for this surplus inventory,’said Obuchowski. Lines started to form before the warehouse opened last Friday and by the end of the day the warehouse had been nearly emptied of its inventory. Since then, State employees and movers have worked through the week to replenish the inventory and make sure the warehouse is full for Friday’s expected busy day.
Friday’s sale opens at 8 am and will run until 4 pm. Cities, towns, schools and non-profits attending the Tag Sale are asked to bring identification or their 501 C3 non-profit status certificates with them to use when registering.
State officials expect the surplus inventory to be completely out of the complex by the end of August to allow for reconstruction of the Waterbury State Office Complex to move forward.
‘We are hoping all Vermont communities and nonprofit organizations still needing office equipment, furniture, and supplies will take advantage of the remaining inventory by coming to Waterbury on Friday,’said Commissioner Obuchowski. Commissioner Obuchowski finished his remarks by reminding Vermonters interested in acquiring the remaining inventory to come to the public sale on Saturday August 4th. .
