The 2012 Farm Show, which runs from Jan. 24th-26th at the Champlain Valley Expo, will be the largest in Vermont’s history. The Essex Junction venue will be filled with 277 booths, representing 168 vendors. The show was relocated to the fairgrounds this year from its former home in Barre to accommodate steadily increasing attendance from both vendors and visitors in recent years.

Hours for the Farm Show are as follows
Tues., Jan. 24th: 9 a.m. ‘ 5 p.m.
Wed., Jan. 25th: 9 a.m. ‘ 8 p.m.
Thur., Jan. 26th: 9 a.m. ‘ 4 p.m.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The Farm Show will kick-off Tuesday morning, January 24th at 8:30 a.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The media is invited to attend this event, which will feature members of the Farm Show board, Farm Show vendors, and representatives from the Champlain Valley Expo Center and the Agency of Agriculture.
Annual Meetings

Consumer Night
Wednesday, Jan. 25th is Consumer Night at the show.
Programming for this special evening is as follows:
4:00 p.m.: Farm to School grant awards are presented by Lt. Gov. Phil Scott, Commissioner of Health Harry Chen, and Secretary of Agriculture Chuck Ross.
4:00 p.m. The first-ever Buy Local market, featuring 44 local farmers and producers, commences. Market is open until show closing.
5:00 p.m.: The Capital Cook-off, an Iron Chef-type battle will pitting Vermont House, Senate, and Agency of Agriculture representatives in a cooking competition using local Vermont foods, begins.
6:30 p.m.: Capital Cook-off judging begins.
