The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Southern Vermont recently awarded Stafford Technical Centers Construction Technology Program as its 2012 Builder of the Year. In this program, led by instructor Jeff Fowler, the students learn valuable skills that can be applied to the construction industry including building Five Star plus Energy Efficient homes in the Rutland City Community. They also earn a number of certifications such as their OSHA 10 hour Construction Safety Certificate, National Center for Construction Education and Research Certification, and AGC/VT Program Credential. In addition, Staffords Construction Technology Program is involved in a number of local community service initiatives such as Hearts for Rutland, United Way of Rutland County, and the H.B.R.A. Home Show. 82% of the students enrolled in Construction Technology are employed three years after leaving the program. All of this contributes to Staffords blueprint for success.
