JP Sicard Inc, was recently awarded for their Outstanding Quality of Work and Effort, in the Specialty Construction Category, by the Associated General Contractors of Vermont (AGC/VT), at its annual Best Builders Award Ceremony held on December 4 at the Hilton Hotel in South Burlington.
JP Sicard Inc, located in Barton, won for their work on the Hartness Airport Hazard Beacon.
The project consisted of replacing three hazard beacon towers with new solar powered systems. Until this year, the airport had hazard beacons powered by overhead utility lines that traveled up hillsides to tower sites, often at the highest point on the mountain.
The new systems include LED beacons mounted on towers at heights of up to 70 feet and are powered by four solar panels mounted atop of each tower, allowing the warning light to flash through the night. The solar beacon project offers state of the art advancement by using alternative green power for operating the beacons.
The new systems are also equipped with a communication system that provides the owner remote monitoring abilities meaning the information can be viewed from a desktop, tablet or cell phone.
Tuesday, December 12 / Montpelier VT AGC/VT represents more than 150 active general contractors, associates and affiliate members including equipment and material suppliers, insurance companies, bonding firms, financial institutions, consultants and an additional 60 members from the Vermont Independent Electrical Contractors Association. The mission of AGC/VT is to serve as the advocate for the highway and building contracting community.
