People's United Bank awards $1,000 for Home Share Now

Peoples United Bank announced today that they have made a $1,000 donation to Home Share Now in Barre, Vermont.
Home Share Now began in 2001, when an elderly gentleman asked the Montpelier housing Task Force why there wasnt a home sharing program to serve central Vermont. Two years of research and planning led to the creation of Home Share of Central Vermont under the umbrella of the Central Vermont Council on Aging.
The years between 2003 and 2010 saw an increase in demand that spurred the realization that home sharing must embrace all ages and encourage a positive environmental impact. In 2010, Home Share of Central Vermont became Home Share Now. Far more than just a name change, Home Share Now means forward looking optimism combined with solid home sharing experience and a strong capacity to take on the housing, environmental, economic, and social challenges our community will face in the next decade. Home Share Nows Executive Director, Christina Goodwin, says local demand continues to morph as a broader diversity of people are choosing home sharing. Shared housing organizations across the country are looking to Home Share Now as they, too, consider model shifts. We have a unique approach and were fortunate that Peoples United Bank recognizes this, too.
We are pleased to provide this donation to Home Share Now, said Michael Seaver, President, Peoples United Bank in Vermont. This organization is a great example of how we can share resources, look for ways to partner and assist those who might need a little extra help.
