Beginning Monday, July 18, GAW will begin the final phase of its Morrisville Network upgrade. This effort began in the first quarter of 2011 with the upgrade of the GAW network backhaul links, the equipment that delivers the Internet to the company’s transmission equipment known as access points (AP). The final phase will include the replacement of the GAW AP equipment and customer premise equipment. The upgrades will be completed by Friday, July 22 and will enhance the services of more than 100 last-mile subscribers with speeds up to 6mbps, Digital Voice Services and HDTV. GAW will absorb the $399 installation and new customer equipment cost.
Final Phase
In the final phase, GAW will replace the Trombley Hill, Stagecoach and Elmore Fire Department APs serving existing subscriber locations, whether a business or residence. Accessing the new transmission equipment will require the replacement of existing customer equipment. There is no cost to current subscribers; GAW will absorb the $399 professionally installed new equipment cost. However, until the equipment is changed, subscribers will not be able to receive the new, faster high-speed communications services offered by GAW and will need to make an appoint for re-installation.
The switchovers will occur based on the following schedule:
July 18, 2011 ‘ Trombley Hill
July 19 & 20, 2011 ‘ Stagecoach
July 21 & 22, 2011 ‘ Elmore FD
Work will be begin at 8am on each day and subscribers will need to schedule an appointment to ensure minimal downtime of their high-speed communications services. The sooner subscribers schedule their appointment the faster they will get back online. Customer re-installations are on a first-come, first-served basis. Subscribers can contact 877.543.8429 or email [email protected] to schedule an appointment for the customer equipment upgrade.
Higher speeds, Digital Voice Capability and HDTV
With the upgraded high-speed communications services, subscribers will have a choice of either 3mbps or 6mbps of Internet speeds. The upgraded network services will also provide for Digital Voice Service capability, the GAW VoIP product. Rounding out the company’s offering, GAW now offers DIRECTV for users that would like to receive their Internet, voice and TV service through a single source.
More Services, Reduced or Same Monthly Fees
Many subscribers will see a reduction in monthly access fees while getting significantly more bandwidth and communications capability. Other subscribers will see the same monthly access fee but will experience the same significant increase in service speeds and network capability.
