J.D. Power and Associates has ranked Central Vermont Public Service second for overall customer satisfaction among electric utilities in New England and New York. CVPS ranked third in the East Region for customer satisfaction among midsized utilities for the second straight year ‘ and sixth in the country for customer service.
The company, one of the smallest investor-owned utilities in the country, ranked second in its segment for customer service and corporate citizenship, third for communications, power quality and reliability.
The study showed:
â ¢ CVPS customer service ranks sixth in the country out of 124 utility brands.
â ¢ Strong awareness of CVPS’s environmental efforts, energy efficiency programs, donations and employee involvement in community activities.
â ¢ Excellent customer satisfaction with outage restoration estimate accuracy and outage information.
â ¢ The average customer-reported bill amount of $105 was the same as 2010, and was the lowest in the East Midsize Segment.
‘The J.D. Power study has been a wonderful tool to maintain focus on what is important to customers, including safe, reliable service, high-quality customer service and clear, open communications,’ CVPS President Larry Reilly said. ‘The study helps us adjust and respond to customers’ concerns, with detailed information about our successes and where we can improve.

The 2011 Electric Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study is based on responses from nearly 100,000 online interviews conducted with residential customers of the 124 largest electric utility brands across the United States.
