For the week of September 4, 2010, there were 628 new regular benefit claims for Unemployment Insurance, an increase of 12 from the week before. Altogether 8,102 new and continuing claims were filed, a decrease of 641 from a week ago and 2,535 fewer than a year earlier. The Department also processed 2,749 First Tier claims for benefits under Emergency Unemployment Compensation, 2008 (EUC08), 29 fewer than a week ago. In addition, there were 1,370 Second Tier claims for benefits processed under the EUC08 program, which is a decrease of 48 from the week before.
