Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility elects new directors

Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) announces the election of six new board members and an amendment to the bylaws to include at-large board members.
Three board members were elected for three-year terms. Russ Bennett is the owner and founder of Northland Design & Construction, Inc., a residential design-build company focusing on energy efficiency. Mark Curran is an owner and founder of Black River Produce, a wholesale produce distributer employing over 150 people. Mary Powell is president and CEO of Green Mountain Power (GMP), a utility which transmits, distributes and sells electricity to more than 200,000 people and businesses in Vermont. Due to prior commitments, Powell is joining the board in September.
This year, a new bylaw amendment has passed that allows for the election of at-large board members. Colin Davis, vice president at Good Point Recycling, was elected at-large for a three-year term. Annie Viets, associate professor at SIT Graduate Institute, was elected at-large for a two-year term. David Sellers, owner of Sellers & Company was elected for a one-year at-large term.
Reelected for a three-year term were Pat Heffernan, president of Marketing Partners, Inc.; Don Mayer, CEO of Small Dog Electronics; and George Schenk, founder and president of American Flatbread.
Continuing board members include Lawrence K. Barber, Merrill Lynch Global Private Client Group; Flip Brown, Business Culture Consultants; Brian Dunkiel, Shems Dunkiel Kassel & Saunders PLLC; Julie Lineberger, Linesync Architecture; Paul Millman, Chroma Technology; Chris Morrow, Northshire Bookstore; Leslie Nulty, Focal Point Advisory Services; Jacob Park, Green Mountain College; Beth Sachs, Vermont Energy Investment Corp.; and Mark Schulman, Goddard College.
