New John Anderson Studio Web site spotlights a shift from architecture to art

NORTH FERRISBURGH, Vt. - John Anderson, a longtime Vermont architect who has been honored for his creative commercial and residential designs, has shifted gears to concentrate on the broad range of artwork that he creates. Anderson has launched a new Web site at www.johnandersonstudio.com to highlight this change in focus.
The new Web site features art that Anderson created over the last two decades, including mixed medium drawings and sketches, murals, photo collages, 3-D paper designs and photography. Some of the artwork relates to architecture and construction, while other pieces reflect Andersons travels over the years. The artwork ranges in size from the 15-inch-wide Paper as a 3D Object series to 28-foot-long murals.
"I've been making art all my life. It's just something that I need to do full time at this time in my career," Anderson said. "I need to see what certain forms, ideas and concepts that I think about look like on paper."
"I let my art influence my architecture and vice versa. Since I have always been an artist at heart, I approached architecture as large-scale visual art. Now I want to see how far I can go and what new worlds I can investigate with pure visual art."
Anderson will still take on a limited number of residential architecture projects as he continues to produce art in his studio in North Ferrisburgh. He can be reached through his new Web site at www.johnandersonstudio.com, which was created by Ecopixel, a Vermont-based Web development and visibility firm.
