Terry Ehrich Award: Melinda Moulton, CEO of Main Street Landing Company
Small Company Leader of the Year Award: Nathaniel Group, Inc., Vergennes
Large Company Leader of the Year Award: King Arthur Flour Company, Norwich
The prestigious Terry Ehrich Award was established in 2002 in honor of Terry Ehrich, of Hemmings Motor News in Bennington. In addition to running a successful business, Terry was a founding member of VBSR, founder of the First Day Foundation for public schools, and a tireless advocate for public policies to protect the Vermont environment, workforce, and a sustainable economy.
The VBSR awards committee chose Melinda Moulton, the CEO of Main Street Landing for the Terry Ehrich award for many reasons including her exceptional leadership of the VBSR Program and Entertainment Committee and the VBSR Energy, Transportation and Environment Policy Action Team; her service on the VBSR Public Policy Committee and Board of Directors; and her countless other ways of providing leadership for Socially Responsible Business Practices in the State of Vermont. The Terry Ehrich Award is given annually to an individual demonstrating the characteristics for which Terry was so well known& socially responsible business principles in action in the workplace, political, natural and social justice environments.
The awards committee chose Nathaniel Group, Inc. which ships their high tech medical devices to surgeons around the world and solves problems for large national clients with innovative thinking, for the Small Business Leader of the Year Award. Nathaniel Group, Inc., has recently received a $250,000 grant to develop a prototype concentrated solar photo-voltaic energy generator.
The awards committee chose 218 year-old company, King Arthur Flour for the Large Business Leader of the Year Award for its pioneering business practices including being 100% employee owned, its tremendous dedication to quality products and winning workplace.
