Clifford of Vermont to Supply Fiber for North-Link Network.

Clifford of Vermont Selected to Supply Fiber for North-Link Network.
The network will promote economic development in rural Vermont communities
St. Albans, VT (March 19, 2007) Northern Enterprises, Inc., a 501(C)3 non-profit organization is pleased to announce that a Vermont Company, Clifford of Vermont, will be awarded a fiber optic cable purchase agreement for the Northeast Kingdom portion of the North-Link network.
The North-Link project is a 400-mile open access fiber optic network covering eight counties where there are limited, affordable broadband communication services.
The North-Link network will provide this rural region an affordable backbone for high-speed Internet access allowing for economic growth, development, and sustainability.
Clifford of Vermont, a Power & Tel Company, is a national distributor of wire, cable, fiber optic, electronic and wireless products, and related supplies and equipment.
Ted Clifford founded the company in 1946 in Bethel, VT, where it continues doing business today. Their products are used for a wide range of telecommunications, control and networking applications as well as security and fire alarm systems, and city traffic signal systems. Clifford also manufactures its Quik-Pull® custom cable assemblies in nearby Randolph, VT.
Just as building adequate highways was vital for economic prosperity in the past, said Connie Stanley-Little, Executive Director of Northern Enterprises, the new economic highway is fiber optics and we must build it to be competitive in the global marketplace.
Last year, Northern Enterprises awarded North-Links engineering, design and construction management services to Adesta, LLC.
We are pleased to add Clifford of Vermont to our team to assist Vermont in its mission to be the first e-state. We would like to recognize our engineering and design team at Adesta who have been a valuable resource and essential to the successful engineering and design of North-Link.
We are eager to move into the construction phase and bring this high speed broadband to our communities. said Connie Stanley-Little, Executive Director.
