Area Employers to Endorse HHS
Value-Driven Health Care Initiative
HHS Secretary Michael Leavitt will join Vermont
Governor Jim Douglas, Lt. Governor Brian Dubie and
representatives from business, community and health organizations to discuss
Value-Driven Health Care, namely ways to provide better quality and lower costs
for more Americans. The Secretary will
discuss the four cornerstones of value-driven health care: interoperable health IT; transparency of
quality, transparency of price; and incentives for high value health care. The
meeting will include a signing ceremony. Governor Douglas and business representatives
will be signing statements of support for the initiative.
