Elizabeth Bankowski, a consultant in communication and corporate social responsibility has been nominated to serve on Green Mountain Power’s Board of Directors. The election will take place at the Company’s annual meeting of shareholders in May.
Bankowski, 54, was a Senior Director at Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Inc. from 1991 until June 2001 and remains a trustee of the Ben & Jerry’s Foundation. She is also a trustee of The Windham Foundation and a board member of The Trust Company of Vermont. From 1985 to 1990, she served as Chief-of-Staff for Vermont Governor Madeleine M. Kunin, whose successful campaign she ran in 1984. In 1992, she served on President Clinton’s Transition Team, advising on economic issues. Ms. Bankowski was a founding board member for Businesses for Social Responsibility, a national organization, and served on the board of the Social Venture Network, an association of business and nonprofit executives concerned with business social responsibility.
Ms. Bankowski lives in Brattleboro, Vermont.
