CCTA Announces New Transit Planner

Aaron Frank has recently joined the Chittenden County Transportation Authority (CCTA) as Transit Planner. Mr. Frank graduated from Johnson State College and completed his Master’s degree in public administration at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Most recently he worked as Director of Planning in Chattanooga, Tennessee on service planning, intelligent transportation systems, grants, capital budgeting, procurements, and metropolitan transportation planning. After restructuring existing routes adding service with grants he applied for, ridership increased by 2-5% annually thereafter.
In his role as Transit Planner at CCTA, Frank will analyze CCTA's routes in terms of their ability to meet current travel and development patterns which have changed since many of the routes were initiated. He will also be looking for additional partnerships with institutions with parking and transportation needs.
Aaron lives with his wife Julie and they have an 18 month old son, Alex. He is pleased to return to Chittenden County since they have extended family in the New England area.
The Chittenden County Transportation Authority operates the region’s public transit buses and provides 1.6 million rides per year. CCTA has a forty-four bus fleet, which services Burlington, Essex, Shelburne, South Burlington, Williston, Winooski and a portion of Colchester.
