Geometric Dimensioning
and Tolerance (GD&T)
Tuesday, October 1
8:00 am - 4:00 pm
BioTek Instruments, Winooski
Engineering Drawings are the fundamental method used to convey technical information to manufacturing and inspection. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) is a common manufacturing language which describes the geometry of a part and the allowable tolerance for variation. It is used in conjunction with traditional dimensions and tolerances. When applied properly, the design engineer can precisely define a feature's location, size, shape and orientation. GD&T also guarantees manufacturing, quality and suppliers can properly interpret the design intent and apply the tolerance in order to produce and measure the part using the lowest cost process.
This training will cover GD&T symbols and interpretation of the symbols and methods used on manufacturers' technical drawings. The participants will leave with an understanding of the methodology of GD&T and be able to incorporate it into their day-to-day work experiences. Read here the topics to be covered during this full-day training as well as information about instructor Mike Clark, Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
Who Should Attend? This workshop is designed for design engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality professionals, production staff and anyone with a basic ability to read engineering drawings.
