Vermont Woodlands to hold Annual Meeting in March
RANDOLPH, VT- You are invited to join the Vermont Woodlands Association for their Annual Meeting on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 8:30AM – 3:00PM at Vermont Technical College’s Judd Hall in Randolph Center, VT. The meeting’s agenda includes presentations by Steve Sinclair, State Forester - update on VT FP&R activities; Michael Snyder, Commissioner, VT FP&R - Forestry Legislation this session; John Buck, Biologist, VT Fish & Wildlife – wildlife education, Wildlife Habitat Management for Lands in Vermont; Kendra Gurney, Chestnut Regional Science Coordinator; Mary Sisock, UVM Extension Forester – Succession planning workshops; & Kathleen Wanner, VWA Executive Director’s report. A brief VWA membership meeting and other business will be held after lunch.
Tree Farm Awards for 25 & 50 year Tree Farmers will be presented as well as the 2015 Tree Farm Inspector of the Year and 2015 VT Outstanding Tree Farmer of the Year. Charlie Cogbill, Plant Ecologist will provide a keynote on “The Original Forest of Vermont”.
