Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Short Term Rental Alliance (VTSTRA) is hosting its inaugural event to bring together local and national stakeholders in Vermont’s vacation rental industry. As one of the fastest-growing gig economies in Vermont, short-term rental (STR) operation is rapidly professionalizing and new technologies are emerging to make managing, regulating, and promoting these businesses easier and more efficient.
Speakers will include: Maura Collins, Executive Director of Vermont Housing Finance Agency; Lisa Chase, Director of Vermont Tourism Research Center at UVM Extension; David Krauss, CEO of Rent Responsibly; and more. Presentations and panel discussions will cover topics such as:
- Impacts on housing, local businesses, tourism, and the economy
- Regulatory compliance using data and technology
- Safety & insurance products for vacation rental homeowners
- Permitting processes for backcountry and non-traditional accommodations
- Emerging business opportunities for women, minorities, and aging Vermonters
Over 20 vendors will be present, connecting vacation rental owners and managers with products and services to support their business needs and objectives.
