Vermont PBS Brings POV’s Justine Nagan to Vermont International Film Festival
Nagan and Lori Cheatle Present POV’s Seven Songs for a Long Life
Vermont PBS is pleased to announce a rich partnership with the 2016 Vermont International Film Festival (VTIFF), as it presents two events for film buffs featuring Justine Nagan, executive producer of the PBS series, POV, and film producer Lori Cheatle.
The pair will present a Q&A session on Friday, October 28th at the festival, offering documentary filmmakers a chance to interact with two veteran producers. That will be followed on Saturday, Oct 29, with a screening of the POV film, “Seven Songs for a Long Life” and a Vermont PBS-sponsored reception with Nagan and Cheatle.
“We value the smart, creative people making films right here in Vermont and the inspiring quality of their work. To share, support, and expand locally relevant films, we are pleased to bring Justine Nagan of POV to Vermont for this event, and have shaped a platform for viewers to enjoy their work as part of our Made Here series. We look forward to this exciting Festival and the participation of top talent,” said Holly Groschner, President and CEO of Vermont PBS.
Justine Nagan is the Executive Director of American Documentary, Inc., and an Executive Producer on its two signature series, POV (PBS) and America Reframed (World Channel in partnership with WGBH). POV is the longest running independent documentary series on television. She is a strong believer in the important role of public media in a democracy; diversity and independent voices in popular culture and of documentary as a tool for civic dialogue, new thinking and social change.
