Vermont PBS Announces Three New Virtual Events, April 19, 27, May 21

Engage Directly with the Best of Public Media

Vermont PBS’ successful series of online events with OVEE (pronounced “oh-vee”) and Zoom continues this April with three special features: Philly D.A., Gardening with Charlie Nardozzi, and a Taste of Fame: A Virtual Cooking Event with Lidia Bastianich. OVEE gives participants interactive access to the people and topics at the heart of public media. Register for these events through the links below or find them all and more at vermontpbs.org/events.

“Philly D.A. is a brilliant documentary that engages with of-the-moment issues in the criminal justice system, and our events with Charlie Nardozzi and Lidia Bastianich bring the inspiration to create right into your own gardens and kitchens,” said Steve Ferreira, CEO of Vermont PBS. “We’re so thrilled to bring Vermonters another way to engage with these storytellers. They educate and entertain and represent the best of public media.”

Philly D.A.

A Vermont PBS Virtual Event: Film + Discussion

Monday, April 19 | 7 PM

Philly D.A. is a groundbreaking documentary series embedded inside the long shot election and tumultuous first term of Larry Krasner, Philadelphia's unapologetic District Attorney, and his experiment to upend the criminal justice system from the inside out.

Following a sneak preview of the first episode, we’ll host a discussion with the film’s director, Ted Passon; Jessica Brown, Esq, Supervising Attorney in the Chittenden County Public Defender Office; and Skyler Nash, Public Policy and Research Analyst for the City of Burlington Racial Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee. Hosted by Sarah George, Chittenden County State’s Attorney. Philly D.A. will air on Vermont PBS on April 20 at 9 pm and be available to stream at vermontpbs.org.

Gardening with Charlie Nardozzi

A Vermont PBS Virtual Event

Tuesday, April 27 | 7 PM

Join Vermont’s own Charlie Nardozzi, gardening expert and host of All Things Gardening on VPR, for a members-only event. He’ll share the benefits of no dig gardening – a method that will build your soil’s fertility while helping the environment – and there will be lots of time for your gardening questions!

This is a virtual event and admission is available with a gift of support to Vermont PBS.
