VARA's 45th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Come one, come all to the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum in Stowe, VT
Saturday, March 12th for an open house from 4:00 to 6:00 pm
In 1971 a group of passionate parents and lovers of alpine ski racing got together to begin what has evolved into one of this country's strongest state associations. VARA founders had a vision to organize and promote the State's alpine racing programs, which has led to an unprecedented level of success for Vermont competitors. The growth of the organization over those 45 years has been dependent on hundreds of dedicated volunteers, who have spent hours on the hills of Vermont, trained to become officials, and have never waivered in their goal of keeping ski racing 1st in Vermont, and Vermont ski racers 1st in the world. VARA has developed generations of lifelong enthusiasts, including those in the youngest age groups to those who have reached the pinnacle of their sport - World Cup and Olympic competition. All VARA members, past and present should be proud of these accomplishments.
Congratulations to VARA for achieving 45 years of excellence
VARA is proud to have partnered with the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum this fall. Both entities share the same passion for alpine ski racing and for the preservation of Vermont traditions. It is only fitting that VARA has found a home at the museum to display and preserve its historical roots.
Please join us in the celebrations at the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum. It's VARA's 45th anniversary and VARA's Excellence Weekend, the best U14 racers in the state will be competing, and VARA's initial historical exhibition will be revealed at the open house. Racers and parents can meet Olympians and World Cup racer, Tim Kelly from the Redneck Racing Team and the US Ski Team. Refreshments will be served, followed by an autograph session and raffle. This is an event you don't want to miss.
