When:           Thursday, August 17, 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm. Remarks at 4:00 pm.

Why:              Designed to remove barriers to effective opioid addiction treatment, The Welcoming Place will serve children from newborn to 12 years old, free of charge, as their parents or guardians receive treatment to maintain recovery. The Welcoming Place is a new short-term childcare program exclusively for patients of the Brattleboro Retreat’s HUB program.

This program is the first of its kind in the State of Vermont. There is great interest in this program around the state and it is expected to serve as a model for other such programs.

The Welcoming Place is made possible by generous grants covering all start-up and operating costs, from the Vermont Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Programs, the AD Henderson Foundation, Clear Solutions Fund of the Vermont Community Foundation, and the Thomas Thompson Trust.
