Rally for Safe Roads, Friday September 25th
Vermont Road Users Rally for Safety on Friday, Sept. 25, at 5:30 p.m., in Montpelier on the State House lawn.
The Vermont Highway Safety Alliance and Local Motion invite you to attend a rally for safe roads in response to the fatal crashes that have occurred this year in Vermont. The rally will be held on Friday September 25th at 5:30pm on the State House lawn in Montpelier. To date thirty seven lives have been lost on VT highways in 2015. Thirteen of these tragedies have impacted the most vulnerable users of our highways; four bicyclists and nine motorcyclists.
The Governor's Highway Safety Program, with the support of members of the Vermont Highway Safety Alliance, has developed a new PSA and a Vermont Road Users Pledge. The focus of the message is on the person on the road and our shared responsibility to each other, and our goal is to begin bridging the gap between different road users. Lt. Gov. Phil Scott has agreed to speak at the event and is confirmed to attend.
