Old Forests: What They Are, Why They’re Important, and Opportunities for Management, Feb 17

Thursday, February 17, 2022

Time:  7:00 – 8:00 pm

Many of us are drawn to the idea of old forests. But what are old forests, and what role should they play in our modern world? Join the Hardy Plants Club of Vermont and Ethan Tapper, the Chittenden County Forester for the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation, for a presentation about what eastern old forests are like (it may surprise you!), why they are important and how we can use lessons gleaned from old forests to inform thoughtful, regenerative forest management in Vermont.
