Nominations now open for Vermont Chamber’s 2014 Citizen of the Year award

Vermont Chamber now accepting nominations for 51st award

The Vermont Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the 51st annual Citizen of the Year award.

The Citizen of the Year award is presented to an individual who:

1. Has made major contributions to the betterment of Vermont;

2. Has been distinguished through outstanding service to his/her community and region; and

3. In the judgment of the Special Selections Committee typifies the true spirit of service and self-sacrifice in representing the finest ideals of Vermont citizenship.

Nominations will be accepted through July 31, 2014. A special selections committee will review all nominations and select a recipient in August. An award banquet, which is typically held in November, will be organized to honor the individual. The exact date and location of the event are dependent on the award recipient.

Previous winners of this award include U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy (2013), real estate mogul Antonio Pomerleau (2012), Jay Peak Resort owner Bill Stenger (2011) and former Vermont Governor Jim Douglas (2010).
