MT. ASCUTNEY HOSPITAL AND HEALTH CENTER WELCOMES 2018 MISS VERMONT JULIA CRANE TO PROMOTE ORGAN DONATION
WHAT:
In-person interview availabilities with 2018 Miss Vermont Julia Crane, who will be visiting Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center to talk about the life-saving importance of organ donation, distributing printed materials, answering questions, and posing for pictures. April is National Donate Life Month, focusing attention on organ, eye, and tissue donation and transplantation. In 2018, more than 36,500 transplants brought renewed life to patients and their families, including a personal friend of Julia Crane who received a double lung transplant last year. More than 110, 000 people are currently awaiting transplants, with nearly 8,000 people dying per year because the organs they needed are not donated in time. These pressing statistics and her personal experience inspired Julia Crane to use her platform as Miss Vermont to persuade people to register to become organ donors.
