Mercy Connections to honor the Vermont Sisters of Mercy at annual event June 7

Vermont Business Magazine Mercy Connections is hosting its annual event, “Power of Connection: Stories of Strength & Resilience,” celebrating the organization’s 20th anniversary and honoring its founders, the Vermont Sisters of Mercy. The event will be streamed from Hula Lakeside on June 7th at 11 am.

"The impact of the Sisters of Mercy on Vermont is extraordinary," said Lisa Falcone, Mercy Connections’ Executive Director. “I often wonder how different this state would be without their significant leadership and contributions as social change-makers.”

For more than a century, through education, healthcare, and social services—the local Sisters of Mercy practiced the Mercy mission of service to others. They are known for their faith, compassion, hospitality, leadership, collaboration and a special concern for the disadvantaged. Among their many accomplishments was Trinity College, and later, the establishment of Mercy Connections when Trinity College closed in 2000.

“We are proud and humbled to carry on their legacy of education, mentoring, entrepreneurship and social justice at Mercy Connections. During our 20th anniversary year, it is right to share our gratitude for all they have done,” said Falcone.

In addition to the award presentation, three Mercy Connections’ participants will share their personal stories, representing the more than 400 people who take part in programs each year.

The event is free to all interested in attending online via the Zoom platform. RSVP in advance of the event, at https://mercyconnections.org/news-events/powerofconnection/(link is external). The event will be streamed live from the Hula Lakeside event space in Burlington, Vermont.
