Madeleine Kunin to Speak at Northern Stage for Vermont Women’s Fund Benefit

Former governor Madeleine Kunin will be the keynote speaker at the Vermont Women’s Fund’s first benefit in the Upper Valley. The event will take place Tuesday, October 25th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Byrne Theater at the Barrette Center for the Performing Arts in White River Junction. The benefit is hosted by the Vermont Women’s Fund in partnership with Northern Stage. The evening will highlight the work of the Vermont Women’s Fund and Change The Story, a collaborative initiative of the Women’s Fund, the Vermont Commission on Women, and Vermont Works for Women. Jane Lindholm, host of Vermont Public Radio’s Vermont Edition, will be the emcee for the presentation.

Launched by the Vermont Women’s Fund and its partners in 2015, Change The Story is a statewide initiative that aims to fast-track economic security for women in the state of Vermont, and by doing so, improve the state’s overall economy.

The Vermont Women’s Fund, a component fund at the Vermont Community Foundation, is a statewide philanthropic resource focused on support for young women and girls ages 12-25. The fund awards grants annually to nonprofits whose programs work with this age population, with strategic emphasis on job skill development and financial literacy. Tickets are available at $50 per person and can be purchased online at www.vermontcf.org/oct25. A reception with appetizers and a cash bar will follow the program. A generous donation from the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation helped make this event possible.
