In honor of National Adoption Month and Governor Scott’s proclamation of November as Adoption Month in Vermont, Lund is hosting an open house celebration for adoptive families at Lund’s Hoehl Family Building at 50 Joy Drive from 5:30pm – 7:00pm on Wednesday, November 15th. Families will be able to participate in therapeutic and recreational activities. They will also have the opportunity to learn from Lund staff and collaborating agencies about supports and resources in the community for adoptive families.
On National Adoption Day in Vermont – Friday, November 17th, 30 adoptions will be finalized at three courthouses across the state. There will be a total of 61 adoptions finalized in the month of November. These adoptions will be completed by Lund through Project Family, in partnership with the Vermont Department for Children and Families (DCF). Project Family is a collaboration formed in 2000 between DCF and Lund to find forever families for children living in the child protection system.
The media is invited to attend both events. For more information about opportunities to interview families on the 17th only, please call Charlotte Blend, Lund’s Communications Coordinator, at (802) 861-2580 or (802) 922-4191.
