1:30 p.m. – Announcement of new Economic Development Administration grant to Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation, Brooks House, 128 Main Street, Brattleboro.   Senator Leahy included language in the FY15 Commerce, Justice, Science (CJS) Appropriations Bill ordering the EDA to direct resources to communities hosting nuclear power plants that are in the process of decommissioning.  Funding will be used to determine how the region can grow a green building-industry sector.

2:30 p.m. – Groundbreaking for Red Clover Commons, 30 Fairground Road, Brattleboro.   A 2.8 acre parcel is being developed into 55 affordable apartments for seniors and those of any age with disabilities.   This is the first phase of a three-phase construction project designed to replace the 80 units of affordable senior housing at Melrose Terrace, which was severely damaged by Tropical Storm Irene.
