Howard Center is pleased to announce that it will present the 2018 Help is Here Award to Gretchen Morse at its annual Help is Here Award Celebration on November 14, 6-8 pm.
The award honors an individual whose contributions personify Howard Center’s mission and demonstrate a passion for those served by the organization.
Morse was selected as this year’s recipient in recognition of her many contributions to the health and well-being of Vermonters, including many who are served by Howard Center. Throughout her various public roles as the former executive director of the United Way of Chittenden County, secretary of the Agency of Human Services in the Kunin administration, and as a state legislator, Morse has championed initiatives that serve Vermonters in need and strengthen communities. She currently serves on the board of trustees of the University of Vermont Health Network and the University of Vermont Medical Center.
The award will be presented at the third annual Help is Here Award celebration on Thursday, November 14, at the Pizzagalli Center for Art and Education at the Shelburne Museum.
The evening will be hosted by Howard Center Board of Trustees President Michael Simoneau and The Honorable Madeleine Kunin will be on hand to honor her friend and former colleague. Last year’s recipient, Whit Smith, will be joined by Catherine Simonson and James Leddy to present the award.
